Description Lobaluna 2025-01-09 23:33:05 UTC
Description:
[EDITING] In LibreOffice DRAW, when I copy a Text Box (as Text Frame in Navigator), it gets copied as an image, as a "thumbnail" (because of smaller size), as a non-editable screenshot or image copy of the Text Box. It does not gets copied as a Text Box.

I tried to mimic the failure in Writer, but there it gets copied as an editable Text, only if you choose to Paste Special as a LibreOffice Draw Shape.

Funny thing this happens in ArchLinux (both distro repos, and AppImage 24.2.7.2), but NOT in Fedora 41.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a text box with any words inside
2. Copy the text box to clipboard
3. Paste it anywhere.

Actual Results:
You don't get another text box, exactly as the first one, but an image with the same text on it, sometimes smaller in size.

Expected Results:
Should get an editable copy of the Text Box.

Reproducible: Always

Just to reassure, the original Text box is a Shape in Navigator (Text Frame). The copy of that shape/texbox is also a Shape in Navigator (but an Image with Transparency).

That behavior is present in versions 24.8.4.2 and 25.2.0.1.
