Description: When I go to Recent File, it only shows files of the same type I have open. So, if I am in a spreadsheet, it will not show Text documents and vice versa. I think it used to show all the recents no matter what file type. Kind of a pain to not be able to see recent files of different types. Steps to Reproduce: 1.List recent files 2. 3. Actual Results: Only files of same type are displayed Expected Results: See all recent files regardless of type Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Listed recent file by date opened rather than only those of the same type
You created this bug report for LibreOffice Viewer, was that intended? What is the exact version of LibreOffice you're using? For desktop LibreOffice, whether or not files from all modules should be shown can be configured via "File" -> "Recent Documents" -> "Current Module Only".
Thanks for the prompt reply I am using LibreOffice 24.8.4.2. If I simply open LibreOffice, I see recent docs of all types but if I have an open doc I see only docs of that type. Your reply says that i can configure which files show up under Recent Docs by Going to Recent Docs "Current Module Only" . I see no such command. If I am in Writer, I see only Writer docs. If I am in Spreadsheets, I see only spreadsheets. The only way for me to see docs of other types is to close the doc I have open. I used to be able to have a Writer doc open and go to Recent Docs to open a spreadsheet and vice versa. That is handy. Now I have to close a doc if I want to see a doc of another kind. It is impossible for me to have a Writer doc open at the same time I have a spreadsheet open. That's aggravating. Sometimes it is helpful to be able to see my spreadsheet as I type in Writer and vice versa.
OK, now I see that I CAN have both a Writer and a Spreadsheet doc open at the same time but I have to go to New, then open a file of the type I want, then go to Recent Docs in that window to find my doc. It is a LOT easier when the Recent Doc list contained the most recent docs I had open no matter what type they were.
I did some research and see that this was a change in release 24.8. Personally, I hate it. But it's your software so I just have to live with this inconvenience. Ugh

Indeed, in 24.8 I also don't see that, but I see it in a current development version of LibreOffice. It seems that it was added in LibreOffice 25.2, so you should be able to configure it as well once you update to that version, see tdf#161725. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 161725 ***

Ugh Meanwhile, you can set the "ShowCurrentModuleOnly" value in Tools -> Options -> Open Expert Configuration and filter search for the stanza. The change at 25.2 just adds check box selection to the GUI on the File -> Recent Documents menu entry to control it instead of needing the Expert Configuration manipulation.
