Description:
I can select any color as application background, but can't selecl an image. Whatever the image I selected, I see previously selected color with no image. 
It doesn't matter if I set radiobutton to "image" or to "color".

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to settings
2.select an image for application background
3.be frustrated

Actual Results:
no image, only color is changeable (and I mean not the page background, but the application background)

Expected Results:
selected image must be visible behing the page, as on the presentation of this new feature in v25.2

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I use RU locale and Yaru-dark OS theme. OS is Ubuntu-unity 24.04 64-bit, kernel 6.12.11

Confirmed. Neither with one of the Appearance themes enabled, nor with default Automatic theme can I change the 'Application background' customization over to Image with a selection from the listbox of Gallery images and actually have it assert on the restart.

It keeps dropping back to the fixed color 'Application background' of the appearance theme. Even though the 'Image' radio button and selection from the list box of Gallery images remains set. The 'Tiled' or 'Stretched' radio button makes no difference. Can't get a gallery graphic to display as Application background. Weird in that I thought this had been working, and we have the clips in the release notes.

The same issue as my bug 164886?

Comment 5 there says it depends on an expert configuration, but it didn't work for me.
