Description Alex Thurgood 2025-02-20 11:47:18 UTC
Description:
1) Open a new Writer document.
2) Menu Insert > Media > Scanner > Select source

No reaction, no dialog, nothing happens.

Similarly, if I use Insert > Media > Scanner > Acquire

I get an error message that no source has been defined.

See above

Actual Results:
Inserting from scanner not functional.

Expected Results:
Should be able to choose and use a scanner from the Insert menu.

Reproducible: Always

Maybe it is a MacOS issue.

@Alex, how have you configured TWAIN support for your scanner on Sequoia to pass scanner images into LibreOffice.

My understanding [1] is that you still do need vendor provided drivers, and then TWAIN will work via the Image Capture app?

Is Image Capture even working for you to be able to pass in to LibreOffice?

Please avoid mixing macOS scanner support issue with Windows scanner support issue. These two topics are completely different.

Guess swap Apple Image Capture Architecture (ICA) support for SANE rather than TWAIN in the above...

Seems like this has actually been around for a long time, as I already commented on it back in 2021 in bug 141507.
