Description Stefan 2025-02-20 22:49:20 UTC
Description:
Since LO version 7 up to version 24.8. and probably beyond (tested with different versions of LO on complete new installed windows and linux) the automatic spell checker (hunspell, languagetool via api or writingtool as extension) wont't work after printing (language used: German/Austria).

Example:
"text with eror" <- is marked/underlined (original example: "Text mit feler")

Print document and go on with writing:

"text with eror" <- is no longer marked

LO 6 is not affected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LO Writer
2. Write text with spelling mistakes (is marked/underlined)
3. Print document
4. Write more text with spelling mistakes (isn't marked/underlined)

Actual Results:
Spelling mistakes aren't marked on text written after printout

Expected Results:
Spelling mistakes should be marked after printout

Reproducible: Always

Hello Stefan,

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile (<https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile>) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

Hello Bogdan,

I tested bug on a brand new Ubuntu 25.04 nightly I used for another thing. See attached screenshot.

The bug occurs before and after deleting the user profile.

Confirm with
Version: 25.2.1.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e538fb6403facdfd3db0250c3b3278236c675c2a
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3

So, write a wrong text is underlined. Print. Write another wrong text. No underline.

But I found that this bug was already reported in the past. Anyway, Stefan, thanks for reporting.
