Description Raul 2025-02-26 08:20:52 UTC
Hello,
I encountered a bug in our workflow using Libre Office Writer.
Firstly it only happens while having two documents open at once.
The steps to recreate the issue are as follows:
- Open both documents, each with custom fields. They can be the same fields or different ones, however the contents must be different;
- Copy any text from one document, with or without fields;
- Go to the other document and use paste special function with RTF selection;
- The same fields get overwritten with data from the first document, all the different fields are added to custom properties;
- The same happens if a new empty third document is created. All the custom fields from the first document are added to the third;

The bug does not happen in the following situations:
- Using paste special with any other selection than RTF;
- Closing all writer documents and only then opening another document. Just closing the document from which the paragraph was copied doesn't stop the issue;

Any feedback is appreciated, I understand libre office only as a user and I think this is a bug.

Please attach a sample files, reduce the size as much as possible without private information, and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.

Document from which to copy paragraph

Doc1 contains information I would like to copy into Doc2 using RTF to keep the format.

Document into which to paste information

Doc2 is the new document into which I would like to paste the paragraph from Doc1.
It contains a newly created field that is not affected, and the same fields from Doc1 but with different information.

Reproducible
Version: 24.8.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: fddf2685c70b461e7832239a0162a77216259f22
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 26100); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

But in some way is a workaround to copy replacing the values, what the normal copy doesn't do.
