Description: I use draw to sign pdf documents, adding a signature bitmap on them. (Ubuntu 22.04/ LO 24.8) Using this “export immediately as pdf” function (from the file menu) results in open office stalling and taking ages to export the document to pdf (about 10s per page!). If trying to use any another app of LO, you have an extremely annoying quit/wait message which pops up which you must click on every few seconds, otherwise the pdf export never happens. I just lost an hour in front of my laptop just to sign 3 documents. This happens also with impress (odp and pptx) and writer files (docx and odt). I see two possibilities: 1. correct this very immature behaviour, which seems to exist since 2005 ?! 2. deprecate/suppress this export function whatsoever and make users use the in-system pdf printer. Which I will do in the future. Steps to Reproduce: 1.file ==> export directly as pdf 2. 3. Actual Results: very slow delivery of pdf (about 15s/page). if accessing another LO app at the same time, LO stalls, forcing to click a quit/wait message box every 10 seconds for ever. PDF seems correct Expected Results: fast delivery of pdf, other Lo apps usable Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I did not check other functionality of created pdf
Created attachment 200061 [details] the "export pdf immediately is in a special menu mode, see
This originated from https://community.documentfoundation.org/t/draw-pdf-export-immediately/12886 and there the OS is said to be Ubuntu 22.04
As we don't have an example document, this seems difficult to reproduce. If I just add a random bitmap to a blank Draw document an export to PDF directly, it is done in an instant. So you would need to attach an example you can share in public, so we can test.
