Description steamcar2@gmail.com 2025-04-20 08:19:30 UTC
Description:
Following a win11 update Libre office refused to load. I do not have the smarts to fix this but after a bit of experimenting I discovered if I enable the windows compatibility feature within my libre office icon and set it to Win8. There is no win 10 cause it supposedly is not required, it then runs perfect. I mainly use writer and Calc.

Actual Results:
My computer processed the latest win 11 update.
Following that LibreOffice would not load at all or even open.
I edited the icon by enabling win8 compatibility mode.

Expected Results:
Normal operation returned.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Sorry I can not be more helpfull. Just wanted to report this in case others have the same problem. My computer is a HPZ840

I think you could try, with 'Add & remove programs' in the system, for LibreOffice the option to repair.

Would suspect similar GPU drivers issue as for see also bug 166122,

please post your system hardware and GPU along with the driver builds you're using.

I did try re installing Libre Office using the repair option but this did not solve the problem.

I have run the driver update facility within Glary Utilities. It reports no outdated drivers were found.

My graphics card is Nvidia Quadro K5200
Comment 7 V Stuart Foote 2025-04-21 13:00:49 UTC
Verify your nVidia Quadro K5200 GPU driver. Last supported driver Win10/Win11 is 475.14 -R470 (Jul 2024)

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/228838/

But the GPU is limited to Vulkan API release 1.2

Updating to the latest Nvidia driver appears to have fixed the problem. I was 1 behind. Thanks
