Test .odg file

I cannot delete what 'appears' to be a comment visually, but what is described as an 'annotation' in the Navigator pane.

I get no context menu when right-clicking on the "1" in the small orange square indicating the presence of the annotation.

I get no context menu at all when right-clicking on the "Annotation1" entry in the Navigator pane.

I cannot delete "Annotation1" in the Navigator, not by selecting and hitting "delete" nor by selecting and hitting "backspace"

See attached .odg file which exhibits the problem.

[Delete] key works for me, in a Lenovo Yoga with Spanish keyboard, I have it at top-right on the [Fn] keys row.

Thank you for reporting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is present in as described in the versions of LibreOffice below running on Linux Mint Mate. The behavior seems a bit different across versions.

Observations on v25.8
- the only prompt I receive on right-click is "Alt Text...".
- If I left-click I can select the drop down at the bottom of the dialog box to delete.
- If I select the annotation on the page and then select "Annotation 1" within the navigation pane right-click only offers "Rename".
- If I select in the navigation pane and then use the delete key, the annotation is removed, but the navigation listing for "Annotation 1" remains. If I then scroll to page one and then return to page two, the annotation has returned.

Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Observations on v24.2 below:
- Right-clicking the annotation offers multiple options, including "Delete Comment"
- Left-click to select and then opening the drop down box offers the same options (including "Delete Comment")
- "Annotation 1" does not appear at all in the navigation pane

Version: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

I also reproduced it on Windows.

step 1.create New Drawing document.
step 2.Insert - Comment
step 3.Select annotation 1 in the Navigator and press the [delete] key.
(The comment will disappear.)
step 4.Save as document.
step 5.File - Reload
(Comments are back.)

To delete a comment do this: Make sure in menu View, that 'Comments' is enabled. Click on the comment; that will open it. The comment has a triangle in its bottom right corner for a menu. Open it. You will see commands to delete the comment.

"Delete Comment" is a command. You can customize a menu or toolbar to include this command or you can assign a shortcut key to it. That is in Tools > Customize.

To delete a comment without mouse: Press the tab key until the status bar shows "Annotation 'Annotation 1' selected". (or whatever number the to be deleted comment has) Then execute the command "Delete Comment".

You cannot delete a comment using the Delete-Key and not using the Navigator.

Both of my suggestions are tested on Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha1+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Or go to View > Toolbars and activate the "Comments" toolbar. When you have selected the comment, e.g. by click on its entry in the Navigator, the click on the 'Delete Comment' icon in the "Comments" toolbar.

So the bug here is, that a selected comment is not deleted by the "Del"-key.
