Description Liz Lee 2025-06-08 15:07:09 UTC
when i add a toolbar and dock it and then check "lock toolbar" by right-clicking its handle, the lock-state won't be remembered after closing (and restarting) the app. the toolbar will be shown after restarting, but it wont be locked anymore.

i am using the tabbed UI mode.

Version: 25.2.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode
Comment 2 Liz Lee 2025-06-09 08:06:17 UTC
that's impossible, because if i start libreoffice in safe mode, the toolbar doesn't exist (if it is one of the standard toolbars, it won't be checked to show. if it is a custom toolbar, it hasn't even been created yet in the safe mode default profile)

once i have started libreoffice in safe mode, i cannot restart it from the safe mode to a new safe mode session again, because the "restart in safe mode" option in the "help" menu is greyed out in the safe mode.

i don't think the problem is a messed up profile, as it appears on a different installation on a linux system with a new profile too:

Version: 25.2.3.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 520(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.14; UI render: default; VCL: kf6 (cairo+wayland)
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

but i recognized, the problem only appears when the the "global" checkbox in "view -> toolbars -> [] lock toolbars" is unchecked.

does the global setting override the toolbar specific setting? that's strange, why would there be a toolbar specific setting, if it gets overwritten by the global setting anyways?

anyways, not my problem anymore, as i want all of my toolbars locked, of course...

Able to reproduce on my system.

I locked the Form Controls toolbar using Lock Toolbar Position from the toolbar context menu. After restarting LibreOffice Calc, the toolbar is shown again but is no longer locked and can be moved.

The toolbar lock state does not survive application restart.

Tested with:
Version: 25.8.3.2 (x86_64)
Build ID: 8ca8d55c161d60284f4528fa…
CPU threads: 32; OS: Windows 11 x86_64 (build 26200)
UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
