Description: It is all here: https://www.reddit.com/r/libreoffice/comments/1lka28z/headings_appearing_under_bookmarks/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I am referring to this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/libreoffice/comments/1frfei5/headings_appearing_as_bookmarks/ . I have the same problem. I download Google Docs by rt-clicking and "Download". The file saves as a .docx file. I then open it in LibreOffice (version 25.2.4.3) and, in Navigator, all the headings are under Bookmarks and they look like gibberish, something like _1tdt78wjcgwc or _h1p8261pnb84 ... There is nothing under Headings. Here is the thing though. I have a copy of OpenOffice (4.1.15) and the same file retained the correct headings in Navigator. I was wondering if there is a workaround to get the headings to work correctly in LibreOffice . Thank you! When I open that sample document (Locations.docx) in LibreOffice, I *do* see the headings under Bookmarks as gibberish (ex. _455rv5to0qsk / _cpfw0f3bg1t8 etc). I also see properly formatted headings in OpenOffice. I wish I can screenshot here. I did create a sample document of my own with screenshots here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kj8kTJkIrxmfW1PLlUMsDqMMYXTSLNuJ6w6hleCq0S4/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.50t8qy4c667n I did what you did with the Outline: highlight the heading (like H1/H2 etc) --> rt-click --> Paragraph --> Edit Style OR highlight the heading --> Alt-P In the Paragraph Style Window: Outline & Lists --> Outline Level --> set it to the appropriate level After applying these changes I updated the sample document above with a screenshot https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kj8kTJkIrxmfW1PLlUMsDqMMYXTSLNuJ6w6hleCq0S4/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.a20avz9hnwes I am super grateful that you took the time to point out the issue. Thank you! I guess now I wish LibreOffice folks would address this because it is a manual fix and time consuming if you have hundreds of documents to convert. As suggested by another post I will submit this to bugs and hope for the best. Again, Thank you very much! Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open .docx file downloaded from GoogleDocs 2. 3. Actual Results: in Navigator, all the headings are under Bookmarks and they look like gibberish, something like _1tdt78wjcgwc or _h1p8261pnb84 ... There is nothing under Headings. Expected Results: Headings under headings Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: The software recognizes the headings, only fails to apply appropriate Outline Levels under Paragraph Style. When I do this manually, the headings are fixed in the Navigator.
