Description: All in tittle Works well in Mac OS but not in Windows 10 ... Version 24.8.7.2 Actual Results: white on white Expected Results: white on black Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: /
24.8 is EOL (nothing would be corrected) please move to 25.2 or pending 25.8 release and retest.
I checked on 25.2 and I see mostly the same thingt. I see that LO in dark mode is kind of struggling in the beginning (loading even when you see the main window and all) if you won't wait for it to complete loading it shows these "empty menus". and it will continue to do so until restart. you can still open dialogs by clicking on invisible text. and about dialog is also empty But if you wait for a while (the cursor won't show loading anymore) the menus work as expected Also if I open draw and wait for it to load and then open writer and don't wait there, then menus in draw will break as well

I tried to work with it some more and even if you wait and the menus are there, some dialogs still remain empty - e.g. Graphics Styles
And did you delete/rename your user profile on upgrade to 25.2.4.3? Start with a clean profile (or in Safe mode) and retest. I.e. no theme customizations, no themes, no config left from earlier builds. Then if you still don't like the Win os/DE 'Dark' color theme results of a dark document canvas with light foreground text, you should install the 25.2 appropriate 'Light Application Theme' extension via the Tools -> Options -> Appearance panel. Look for the "Add more themes" button to launch a mini dialog. Be sure to pick one of the 25.2 themes, the new 25.8 themes are not compatible with 25.2
Yeah in Safe mode it works mostly fine. I only see problems with `safe mode/proile reset` itself and `about` dialog windows - there is a lot of flickering Also I reset to factory default and cleared profile through that dialog and it works incomparably better - as at least I don't see fully white menus and windows. I still see a bit of flickering of fully white windows/menus when they open but all of it are minor issues I'd say.

Looking at attachment 201558 [details], the flickering is likely a result of your system choking on skia based rendering libs and falling back to 'default' GDI rendering. See if you get functional rendering by adjusting Tools -> Options -> View and the checkboxes for the Graphics output section: check both these enabled, and restart: Use skia for all rendering Force skia software rendering That will force skia lib based raster framing, not hw accelerated vector rendering of Vulkan. Raster framing should reduce/eliminate flicker. But if your GPU drivers are way out of date, or if available GPU resources are simply too minimal--you may be stuck with default GDI+ rendering and the flicker.
Hm not sure how that happened but after enabling 'Force skia software rendering' it started to work worse (like I've seen a bit more flickering and then after disabling it again made it all the same as in the beginning - so blank menus and dialogs are back... I'm not on ancient driver/hardware (Model AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U with Radeon Graphics. Driver Version 23.19.16.01-240715a-405591C-AMD-Software-PRO-Edition) but I will update the driver and try again

GPU device drivers can be from AMD vendor, or for Vulkan there is an SDK from LunarG with the core drivers--sometimes needed for older hw. https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/release-notes/RN-RAD-WIN-VULKAN.html https://www.lunarg.com/vulkan-sdk/
I updated to Driver Version 23.19.23.01-250306a-415346C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition AMD Windows Driver Version 31.0.21923.1000 Vulkan™ API Version 1.3.260 Vulkan™ Driver Version 2.0.279 I still have some issues (e.g. options dialog doesn't show any changes) 5850U is about 4 years old, so I'd say its not THAT old. but it certainly looks like there is some kind of deep issue - libreoffice draw crashed my GPU driver after waiting for some time. But I didn't see it from any other program yet. and also I don't have any problem with UI if i switch Appearance from System(dark) to Light
well, the driver crash seems to be related to the new driver for me (has it crashing without LO running), so I'm rolling it back. but the problem with dark mode still stands
