Description: Since LibreOffice Draw 8.x (the “version 25” branch), importing PDF files no longer allows reliable editing of text and images as in the 7.5.x series. Specifically: Text elements are moved or disappear Formatting (font, line spacing) is altered Vector objects cannot be selected Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open LibreOffice Draw 8.x on macOS 13.7.4 Go to File → Open and select a PDF containing both text and images (e.g. a sample invoice) Try to select or edit an existing text block Observe that the text is not editable or is displaced 2. 3. Actual Results: Text cannot be selected or is shifted/duplicated. Images sometimes fail to import. Expected Results: The PDF should open in Draw with all text boxes and images fully editable, as in Draw 7.5.x. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 25.2.4.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 33e196637044ead23f5c3226cde09b47731f7e27 CPU threads: 4; OS: macOS 13.7.4; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: it-IT (it_IT.UTF-8); UI: it-IT Calc: threaded
A note: do not invent things like "8.0" - if we didn't move to "year.month" versioning scheme, we could possibly still name it 7.X.
Can not confirm. No issue on filter import of PDF with text and images into a multi-page sdraw document and then being able to select textboxes or images. Works as expected, with Windows and skia/Vulkan rendering. Perhaps try with LibreOffice skia/Metal rendering disabled and using skia/Raster rendering? From the LibreOffice Preferences -> View panel. =-testing--= Version: 25.2.4.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 33e196637044ead23f5c3226cde09b47731f7e27 CPU threads: 28; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 26100); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
