Description: I use Writer to keep a log of my hours at work. For the whole two weeks no problem. Then I make one last entry and save it, the next day I open it and it is blank. I go to the file location and the document is 0kb. Two weeks of my paid hours gone! Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open document, add to it. 2.Save document using the save icon, close writer. 3.Next day open document. Actual Results: Saved file is empty. Expected Results: Save file should contain last edits. Reproducible: Didn't try User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 420(Build:2) CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US Ubuntu package version: 4:24.2.7-0ubuntu0.24.04.4 Calc: threaded Note: The document is saved directly to the cloud (pCloud Drive) and the file is also accessed by a copy of Writer that is run on a Windows machine. The file is saved and closed at the end of each session. File is only accessed by me. I would recommend having an option when saving a file, the original is renamed and the saved file is written with the original file name.
set to "enhancement", but considering the vague, however very specific, bug/use case, it's not likely to be addressed in the core product. you may adjust to your need with some macro.
Not a solution, but verifying the file size after every save, could help to find the issue.
