Description Ken Scott 2025-07-02 20:21:12 UTC
The Envelope orientation option pane has six radio buttons that use images without text labels for screen readers like the latest version 2025.1 of the NVDA screen reader. The lack of image text labels makes it impossible for screen reader users to select an envelope orientation which makes LibreOffice Writer’s envelope insert function useless to screen reader users.
A sighted person described the images as follows:
Horizontal layout, left align
Horizontal layout, centre align
Horizontal layout, right align
Vertical alignment, left align (like the first option, but the whole envelope rotated left by 90°)
Vertical alignment, centre align
Vertical alignment, right align.

The "Envelope orientation" option pane presents a significant accessibility issue as its six radio buttons use images without text labels, making them inaccessible to screen readers. To ensure correct functionality for assistive technologies and improve overall usability, these image-based buttons **require descriptive text labels or alternative text** (via `alt` attributes or ARIA labels). https://www.mcdvoice.site
