Description Gerry Pehl 2025-07-13 12:39:20 UTC
Description:
In the recent version Libreoffice Writer the print function seems to default to 'all pages', in all cases. Previously, and in other programs, when I've selected text, it defaults to 'selected'. So I end up have to make mad scramble to unplug my printer when it start printing a 500 page document that I have selected a small amount of text :-)

Also, I think it's typical for the print function to remember previous settings, which this version is also _not_ doing

Build ID: 33e196637044ead23f5c3226cde09b47731f7e27

Thanks :-)

Actual Results:
Select a section of text, select 'print'=> 'print all pages'

Expected Results:
'print selected' should be default

Reproducible: Always

Prior to version 4.x
a box asking about what to do was presented when after a selection of text the print is run.

To be clear, yes, it is possible to get the appropriate setting, BUT the appropriate setting should be automatically set as default, if there is a text selection present. In the absence of any other 'appropriate setting' the default should be the setting that was most recently used for that document.
