Comment 3 Robert Großkopf 2025-07-20 14:18:10 UTC
Opened a Calc-document.
Created Insert → Textbox with some content.
Textbox is marked.
Copied textbox.
Set cursor to another field in Calc.
Tried to insert Textbox but there wouldn't be inserted anything.

Bug first appears in
Version: 25.2.4.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 33e196637044ead23f5c3226cde09b47731f7e27
CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

Bug won't appear in:
Version: 25.2.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: bbb074479178df812d175f709636b368952c2ce3
CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

So a regression. Might be the versions in comment 3 aren't correct: 24.2.4 and 24.2.5 might be 25.2.4 and 25.2.5

Comment 5 nobu 2025-07-20 21:06:49 UTC
It seems to have been fixed in the daily build.

[2025-07-18_08.09.47]
Version: 25.2.6.0.0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: be12f228ff0cdf34f5821829047ef898e9feabfa
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (10.0 build 19045); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (ja_JP); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

In next version 25.2.6, it should work correctly.

If you need to copy within the same sheet, you can copy with Ctrl + Drag.
Comment 6 j.onathan 2025-07-21 08:26:57 UTC
Description and Comment 2 contain errors.
Calc versions were 25.x.x (and not 24.x.x - sorry).

An other workaround :
1. select the textbox with the select tool (in the drawing toolbar)
2. copy
3. paste
