Description Szasz-Fabian Jozsef 2025-07-20 19:01:14 UTC
Description:
I am selecting cells, Ctrl+1 and I change the border thickness. Ok -> Nothing happens.
I am struggling with various options in the border selection figure in the Format Cells dialog (Ctrl+1), but it never works, the border thickness stays the same. It is common sense to expect cell border change if these are inside a selection. No, I cant select individual cells since there are hundreds, with very complex border patterns, selecting every cell one-by-one takes days.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a spreadsheet with applied borders
2. Select all
3. Ctrl+1 -> Change the border thickness
4. Ok

Actual Results:
Nothing happens, the border thickness remains the same regardless of what the user does. If there is a hidden or cumbersome way to change the borders at once, it is a problem, because it is not intuitive enough by default.

Expected Results:
Anything changed in the Format Cells dialog must reflect inside the selection. This a very basic and elementary expectation from any software.

Reproducible: Always

Please attach a sample file, reduce the size as much as possible without private information,
and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.

At the very least, it does not work as the average user would expect.

This bug should have been reported before, but I could not find it.

It is working well in .ods format, it is changing the border in .xlsx format, but after save and reload the border width are lost. There is a similar bug already reported, but I can not find now.
