Description Ruby 2025-08-04 13:43:38 UTC
Description:
A message came up 2 days ago which said something similar to 'two managers cannot use this app, proceed anyway?'. I tried no/cancel at first, but the message immediately reappeared. I tried yes and the program worked as normal for the rest of the day. Since restarting, no files will open in any LibreOffice programs, and the programs won't open from the start menu.

I have tried repairing the installation, removing and reinstalling, running as administrator, I haven't changed any firewall settings I am aware of.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Double click or right click on any file requiring LibreOffice.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The curser becomes a wheel for 2-3 seconds then back to an arrowhead and nothing happens.

Expected Results:
The file should have opened in the relevant program

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I cannot reset the UserProfile as I cannot access the help features in the programs

Please name your operating system.

Please go to the installation folder of LibreOffice. There you will find a folder "program". Open it and start "soffice_safe". Does it start?

For resetting your user profile see also https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile.

Hi Regina,

I'm on Windows 10 at the moment.

Unfortunately it is the same issue with the soffice_safe file.

I can't reset the user profile at the moment as I cannot get into the program to access the help menu.

Thanks for your support,
Ruby

You do not need the help menu, but you can reset it manually. How to do it is described in the mentioned Wiki page. If you need help in doing it, please ask on https://ask.libreoffice.org.

Ah I missed that (this is my first ever bug report!) thanks so much.

I've reset the user profile and looks like that has fixed it, thank you for all your help!
