Description NightriderXP1 2025-08-18 23:30:10 UTC
I have a spreadsheet that imports data from 8 different open LibreOffice calc docs. The Updating External Links progress bar turns from all green to blue squares before crashing LibreOffice and all open LibreOffice docs. I could provide video of the change from solid green to blue box progress bars if necessary. I don't have a clue what I could modify in the code to fix this even if I could get the file to open without crashing everything. I'm not getting any error messages or warnings. I'm unsure how to proceed let alone fix this...

Rather than crashing LibreOffice, I would prefer to get an error message with some indication of what it doesn't like so that I can fix the code rather than be forced to start over from scratch not knowing if it will happen again. It also would be nice to be able to open each spreadsheet in separate processes so a failure in one doesn't kill all open LibreOffice docs...

Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

If the issue remains, try this:

- Dont't update on opening the file.
- Menu>Edit>External links
- Update one by one; it should be easier to identify the source file that is causing the error.

Please paste here the information on Menu/Help/About LibreOffice (There is an icon to copy)

You may also try with a more recent LO version like 25.2.5.
