Description byebyebugaylon 2025-08-21 14:15:10 UTC
Description:
When LibreOffice automatically switches to its dark theme to match my system theme, the icons on the sheet tabs bar and status bar don't change color (they remain dark), making them difficult/impossible to see. Changing the Icon Theme in Tools -> Options -> View has no effect.

This occurs both in the Flatpak version of LibreOffice (25.2.5.2) on a Linux system using KDE or the native package from the Debian repositories (25.2.3.2).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to a dark system theme.
2. Reboot LibreOffice.

Actual Results:
All icons on the sheet tabs bar and Status Bar fail to change colors.

Expected Results:
The icons should change to a lighter color to increase visibility while using the dark theme.

Reproducible: Always

I just updated to version 25.8.0.4, which released today; the bug is still present. If I use the new "enable application theming" option under Tools -> Appearance, the save and selection mode icons on the status bar seem to appear (they still don't appear without "enable application theming" checked). The icons on the Sheets Tabs bar remain invisible with the box ticked or unticked.

A little better, but anyway, small contrast.

even when active...

In the previous image the icons were not active because of not having more sheets.

Thank you for the report.
The underlying reason is most likely bug 38305. Marking as duplicate.
