Description mybugzilla 2025-08-26 03:23:25 UTC
Description:
LibreOffice 25.8 (new install) crashes every time I try to open a docx file. It attempts to recover the file and then crashes (eternal loop of this until I decline to recover the file). I uninstalled 25.8, re-downloaded, and reinstalled it and the problem persisted.
I am downgrading back to 25.2.3 which did not have this issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open docx from File Menu of LibreOffice or from launch menu.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It crashes, then attempts to recover the file and then crashes (eternal loop of this until I decline to recover the file).

Expected Results:
Normal opening and editing of doc.

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for reporting this issue.
It looks like a duplicated of bug 167956

It looks like a different description to me. It's opening the first document not the second document. There's also no work around for it as stated in the other bug report being referenced here.
