Description jdien07 2025-08-30 01:31:00 UTC
Description:
Libreoffice crashes after copying from Calc into Writer table. There are apparently necessary conditions, such as change tracking being set on Record. The example files provide the necessary test case.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.copy cells
2.paste cells into table in Writer

Actual Results:
nothing copies, both Calc and Writer become unresponsive and it is necessary to perform kill in Terminal.

Expected Results:
numbers should have been copied to the table.

Reproducible: Always

Jdien07, it seem you'r using an old version of LO. Could you please retest with an actual version (at least 25.2.5)? Thank you.

Sorry, I hadn't realized how far behind Pop!_OS's Pop!_Shop has fallen (they're tied up in getting their Cosmic Desktop out of alpha). I figured out how to directly install the flatpak:

Version: 25.8.1.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 54047653041915e595ad4e45cccea684809c77b5
CPU threads: 32; OS: Linux 6.12; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Flatpak
Calc: threaded

I replicated the crash, with the difference that only Writer froze, not Calc.

Can't play that video but I've tried to reproduce the bug

My steps:
1. Open attachment 202610 [details] and copy whole table
2. Open attachment 202609 [details]
3. At page 2 place cursor in first cell of last row
4. CTRL+V

Actual and expected result
Works without a crash

Version: 25.8.1.1 (X86_64)
Build ID: 54047653041915e595ad4e45cccea684809c77b5
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 26100); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL threaded

so perhaps a Linux-problem?
