Description mainbug 2025-09-13 17:20:47 UTC
Description:
A data validity of cells in a sheet with "Cell Range" makes calc unable to quit.
It's also impossible to switch between sheets.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new calc file "unknown1" as xlsx or ods, that's doesn't matter
2. Save the file
3. Go to any cell in the sheet (click in it)
4. From menu go to "Data" -> "Validity..."
5. Choose "Allow: Cell range" and click in the field "Source".
Enter a valid cell reference or not it doesn't matter.
It's simply the click in the input field (set focus).
6. That's it. Now you stuck unable to close calc, switch between sheets or add sheets at all.
7. The error is also reproducable with
right click in a cell -> "Data Validation" -> "Allow: Cell range" ->
     click in "Source"

Actual Results:
Now you cannot close any running calc processes anymore and
additional you cannot switch between or create new sheets.
It is still possible to save the file.
The entire process tree "scalc.exe", "soffice.exe" and "soffice.bin" has to terminate with a task manager.
After reopen the file the document recovery procedure must be completed.
Then it's running normally until you go to "Data" -> "Validity..." -> "Source" again.

Expected Results:
Calc must be able to be closed normally (e.g., with Alt+F4 or a “Close” window message) and also be able to switch between sheets or add new ones.

Reproducible: Always
