PRECONDITION: open any document, set cursor to a paragraph with Default Paragraph Style at a character with No Character Style, open Sidebar Deck for Paragraph or Character Styles, the selection in the sidebar jumps to the corresponding style where the cursor is placed (OK) PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: open context menu on a different Paragraph Style or on a different Character Style, the selection in the sidebar does not stay at the style where the context menu was opened but within less than a second jumps back to the corresponding style where the cursor is placed (NOK) according to this, when selecting Edit Style, the wrong style is opened (not the different but the actual style) EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: jump to the actual style in the sidebar shall be suppressed as long as context menu is open (or sidebar may jump back, but context menu shall open for the style where it was opened) Version: 25.8.1.1 (X86_64) Build ID: 54047653041915e595ad4e45cccea684809c77b5 CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Still present in Version: 25.8.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 580(Build:2) CPU threads: 24; OS: Linux 6.12; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Debian package version: 4:25.8.2-3 Calc: threaded Additional info: this behaviour basically makes it close to impossible to Edit Style any style which is not active, the user needs to select the Edit Style menu within about 500 milliseconds. Workaround is to break out the style panel, which supposedly take away the focus from the main window which keeps switching the selected style below the menu.
