Description: The Properties bar for a drawn object has under "Position and Size" two fields "Width" and "Height", and a click box, which is supposed to allow locking the width to height ration of the size, i. e. automatically changing the other dimension when manually changing one. However, resizing by draggin still allows indpendent change of height and width, ignoring this click box. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Draw a shape 2.In the Properties side bar, select the click box with the closed pad lock right of the Width and Height fields 3.Select the shape and change its size by dragging the handles Actual Results: The height and width can be adjusted independent of each other. Expected Results: Depending on the cursor movement, a movement to the right or left should adjust the height automatically maintaining a constant width-to-height ratio a movement up or down should automatically adjust the width to maintain a constant width-to-height ratio Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 25.8.1.1 (X86_64) Build ID: 54047653041915e595ad4e45cccea684809c77b5 CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 26100); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
I just tried this by changing the numbers in the sidebar. The behavior there was a bit erratic. First time changing the width left the height constant. Changing the height changed the width correctly. Second time, both dimensions adjusted as expected. A bit weird.
Modifying in the sidebar, with 'Keep ratio' locked, seems to work fine. To drag, maintaining the ratio needs the [Shift] key pressed. I don't think there is a bug. Okay, this would be then more a UX issue. I think that a shape with locked HxW ratio should maintain that ratio without needing to hold space. Otherwise this would be a pretty weak lock and it is possible to loose the intended ratio when dragging the shape on purpose or by accident.
