Description tomsci10 2025-10-24 20:46:36 UTC
Description:
EDITING: LibreOffice Writer starts removing characters when attempting to write with characters on the top of my Czech keyboard.

Steps to Reproduce:
Note: I did not try to reproduce it intentionally, but given that it happened multiple times for me on two devices I do think it's reproducible.
1. Open a long file with tables and included graphs in Czech(?) - I would be happy to provide the page this happened to me on for testing purposes. I am not sure if it's the only one that causes this bug.
2. Edit the article normally as you would
3. Try typing "ě" (or 3 in the panel above the QWERTY keys), possibly all of those in the same panel

Actual Results:
It should write the symbol.

Expected Results:
It didn't write anything, and instead deleted a character.

Reproducible: Sometimes

I mean, I've been working on a document for 3 hours and it happened just now.

Thanks for the report.

I'm unable to reproduce this on a standard US keyboard layout, as the bug seems to be specific to the Czech keyboard layout.

Could you please confirm:
1. Is the "Czech" keyboard layout active in your operating system when this happens?
2. Does this happen in a new blank document, or only in the attached file?

This will help the team narrow down if it's a conflict with the keyboard layout or something specific to the document.

I am sorry for being silent for so long. But.
1. Yes, it is the case that I was using the Czech keyboard while encountering this issue.
2. It happens after a long time of typing, by which time the document is no longer blank
