Description Danat 2025-11-01 17:50:24 UTC
Description:
1. It doesn't fully cover the screen
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169185
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146797

2. There is nothing at all for convenient reading

No zoom
No rotation
No page arrangements (1 page view, 2 pages view, adjustment to screen width, height)
No searching

It is toatally void of any functions

3. There can be more advanced tools such as text extraction, auto-scrolling, text insertion and some other things

I suggest adding a disappearing toolbar like in Edge browser (but it can be also fixed in there)

I cannot follow your complaints. Please be more specific with use case like "I want to achieve <Foo> by doing <Bar>, But <Baz> hinders me and I tried <Qux> with no success."

Maybe bug 107923 gives you a clue.

It is simple, there is no mystery behind it

You open full screen. Why? For reading

What do people need for reading? Zooming, searching, page rotation, page size arrangement, navigation

All of that is absent from full screen in LibreOffice Writer

Please see the attachment. It is PDF reader in Edge browser. It got a nice toolbar that has everything you might want

IIRC, this has been talked through many times. Don't remember the outcome but we could make it a duplicate of bug 37817 or bug 53895. Stuart, what do you think?

Distinction to be made between our current "Full screen" mode and a distraction reduced UI that can fit within the application frame as user adjusts--like most modern web browsers offer.

Our Full Screen mode does need work (see also Meta bug 103157), but this enhancement would be more in line with bug 37817, probably accomplished as additional MUFFIN UI assemblage. It could then be available in both windowed app frames (for side-by-side) and potentially to the "Full screen" view.

Believe bug 53895 should be dupe of bug 37817

Important: don't forget about navigation panel - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WWm7eNR6vkR5C4FP1vIks05LH7r4koGU/view?usp=sharing

It's absolutely vital to have a navigation panel with headers and sub-headers as well as images of pages in full-screen mode

It's been talked of in this report - https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169290
