Description: In Calc, if you use SHIFT + Mouse Scroll Wheel to perform horizontal scroll, it feels a bit slow to react. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Calc spreadsheet that has data in columns beyond the right edge of your screen edge. 2.Hold SHIFT + Mouse Scroll Wheel to perform a horizontal scroll 3.You will notice that it is slow to react, have to scroll the wheel a few times to get action to perform. Actual Results: Horizontal scrolling is slow to react Expected Results: For horizontal scrolling to respond quicker Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Suggesting to add a setting that would allow for the precision of this action to be adjusted. This way user can decide how fast the horizontal scroll performs. This setting would have to be in LibreOffice Calc specifically and not a general system mouse setting because then it would cause issues throughout system. Not sure if something like this would be able to be achieved?
To explain a little further. Some mouse scroll wheels have a clicking feeling when wheel is scrolled. In this post, when I say "mouse scroll wheel click" this is what I am referring to (Not referring to clicking the mouse scroll wheel button) If you perform vertical scroll with mouse scroll wheel, you instantly get a reaction from Calc, scrolling up or down. When you perform horizontal scroll using SHIFT + Mouse scroll wheel, you have to scroll about 3-4 clicks before the screen scrolls horizontally. This feels slow and unnatural at least to me. Calc scrolls both vertically and horizontally exactly to column or row edges. Suggesting to make each mouse scroll wheel click to horizontally scroll to the nex rows column. Similar to how if you bring cursor/highlight to cell at edge of right side of your screen and then hit RIGHT ARROW to advance to the new rows column. Hopefully this makes sense. Thank You
Thank you for reporting the bug. When testing I noticed it sometimes takes 2-3 ticks to see horizontal scrolling. Whereas vertical scrolling always took one tick to scroll.
