Description:
(For now will mark as an enhancement)

Currently there is a hotkey available called "Background Color".
Not sure if this is a bug but this hotkey adds the background color "white" by default. If this is expected behavior then I have a suggestion for a new hotkey.

Suggesting to add a hotkey that can be called something like
"Background Color Current"
which uses the current background color being used by the "Background Color" (drop down) tool found in toolbar.

So if the current color is "blue", then when this "Background Color Current" hotkey is activated it will color cell(s) background "blue".

Expected Results:

Reproducible: Always

I think it sets the cell background colour to "No Fill".

See Bug 138722
(Custom shortcut for uno:BackgroundColor should set last color not NoFill)

Thank you for your reply.
Yes that is correct, it is applying a "No Fill" which removes the background color entirely.
I will close this post and make a comment in the post you linked.
Strange that post is 5 years old.
Developer made a comment at the bottom asking for someone to test.
Surprised no one came across this issue in 5 years?
Thank you again for reply/information/link.
