Description mail 2025-11-06 18:40:42 UTC
Description:
I am using a laptop and have an external display connected and set as "join displays" as opposed to mirrored mode. When I start the presentation I just created, it takes a while for the first slide to show up. Additionally, whenever I go to the next slide it sometimes takes multiple second to do so. Sometimes the laptop screen will flicker once it finally goes to the next slide.

Creating a simple two slide presentation does not display the same issue. The attached presentation has the issue for me, also attached is a screen recording of the issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice Impress
2.Create a slideshow with at least 2 slides
3.Click the Start from First Slide button

Actual Results:
Changing slides takes multiple seconds

Expected Results:
Changing slides happens near instantaneously.

Reproducible: Always

When testing your presentation the slide transition only took about half a second for me, but I did see the screen flickering you mentioned about 60% of the time.

I don't have multiple screens, so I used Slide Show - Slide Show Settings - Presenter console: Windowed. I confirm the flickering with some slides, not all. The ability to use windowed presenter console was added in 24.2. I suppose the flickering is older.

I don't reproduce the slowness.

I noticed an unreleased regression in the Presenter console slideshow and reported it as bug 169533
