Description: When using comments and comment threads in Writer extensively, it's very easy to have too many of them to work with any of them effectively. I think it would be very useful to have an option to collapse a specific comment thread so that only a small header and an uncollapse button would be visible (if it exists, I have failed to find it). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have a lot of comments in a Writer document Actual Results: The comments are hard to use Expected Results: An option to collapse a comment thread Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Can't think of anything else.

Comment threads in Writer remain fully expanded in the right-hand margin. No option or icon exists to collapse or hide replies. The screenshot attached shows six replies visible at once, making long threads hard to navigate. The Navigator and Sidebar offer no collapse control either. Expected / Suggested: A collapse/expand toggle for comment threads (show only the first line or comment header with a “+” to expand). This would improve readability and document navigation for heavy collaborative editing. Confirmed enhancement request – feature not currently implemented on Windows build 25.8.2.2.
I suggest to put more effort in the (experimental) comments sidebar which has this collapse function. Bug 106316 for that last year's GSoC effort including mockup and link to the blog post, and bug 163048 as the META ticket.
