Description surname_renewably273 2025-11-14 00:29:36 UTC
Description:
My action that causes the glitch:

in an unlocked cryptomator vault (in file explorer) when I right-click an empty space in the vault and select "new" -> "OpenDocument Spreadsheet" something glitches.

The issue/glitch:

The file gets created as a new .ods extension file. But when I open the newly created .ods file it visually appears as an .odt document file instead of a spreadsheet (because i'm pretty sure it is showing as a document not a spreadsheet).

When you try to save the file, there is no option to save the file as an .ods. Only .odt is given as an option to save.

Same behaviour occurs when creating a OpenDocument Presentation (.odp) file. It appears and acts like a .odt document file.

Repeating the same actions outside of a cryptomator vault (say on my desktop, for example), results in the proper normal behavior.

Environment: Windows 11

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unlock a cryptomator vault
2. Open the vault in file explorer
3. In the vault (in file explorer), right-click an empty space in file explorer and select "new" -> "OpenDocument Spreadsheet" or "OpenDocument Presnetation"

Actual Results:
The spreadsheet (.ods) or Presentation (.odp) files open, look like and act like a .odt document file. Editing the file and trying to save results only giving .odt as a file type to save as.

Expected Results:
if it's an .ods file it should appear as a spreadsheet when opened and save as one. Same goes for the presentation .odp files.

Reproducible: Always

Hello Elizabeth, thank you! I created a new vault with full permissions and unfortunately it still occurs. If I create the files anywhere else other than inside the unlocked cryptomator vault it works perfectly fine.

I also tested what you said. If I create the spreadsheet or presentation file outside the vault it creates normally. If I then copy and paste / drag and drop that file that created normally into the vault and then open that file it will only show and behave as a document file as well. But if I put something in the file and save it, then move it to the cryptomator vault it seems to appear and behave like the file type it should be (either spreadsheet or presentation file)

I don't remember having the issue before.
