DB Range in columns C:F

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #169572 +++

PRECONDITION:
new Calc spreadsheet, Data > Define Range: not aligned to left edge
e.g. attached DBrange-CDEF.ods (from column C to F)

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Data > Data Provider
select Range, CSV, URL e.g. 5x3numbersN.csv from #169570
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=204142
Preview [Apply]
Preview Col:1 header: open context menu
select Column Width, select e.g. 1 cm
in the spreadsheet, the column A is changed, not column C
--> the data from Data Provider Preview Col:1 is imported to a different column

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
the context menu shall handle the column related to the Database Range

Comment 1 Regina Henschel 2025-11-27 20:02:51 UTC
The actually effected column in marked in the document. My take it, that the preview should not have a context menu at all, because formatting properties or insert/remove row/col from the context menu do not belong to the Data Provider settings.

I fully agree.
