Description jvanderweij2 2025-12-07 14:19:32 UTC
Description:
Since one of the last versions, libre office impress doesn't save the setting "Loop an repeat after:" not anymore. If I create a presentation and check this option it works, but if I close the document and reopen it, the checkbox is disabled and the slideshow doesn't repeat after it has finished

Steps to Reproduce:
1. goto menu option "Slide show -> Slide Show Settings"
2. enable the checkbox "Loop and repeat after:"
3. Save the document and close down Libre office impress
4. Reopen the document

Actual Results:
Notice that the checkbox is not enabeld anymore. The Slide show doesn't loop after reopening

Expected Results:
That the slide show keeps its slide show setting when I reopen it.

Reproducible: Always

So there is some issue in your profile, use the Safe Mode windows to reset the profile.
Comment 6 jvanderweij2 2025-12-09 17:23:59 UTC
I have done a reset of the user profile but it only works once. If I shutdown libre office and open the presentation again, the problem is there again.
I have experienced this problem on 2 different systems after upgrading from an earlier version.

Settings after saving, closing and re-opening the presentation
Comment 9 Richard Kraut 2025-12-28 16:01:36 UTC
I can confirm this bug on my machine, too.

After saving and closing the presentation, the before activated setting for "Loop and repeat after:" in "Presentation Mode" of the "Slide Show Settings" is lost after re-opening it.

I have also discovered, that the setting for "Live-mode slideshow editing" in "Presentation Options" under the "Slide Show Settings" is buggy, too.
If you deactivate this setting, saving and closing your presentation, this option is active again after re-opening it.

These problems were discovered respectively confirmed on my Apple mac mini with M4 CPU and macOS 26.2. So it seems to me that this issue is not a problem on the Windows Platform only. Two more Screenshots were also uploaded.

And here are some informations about the installed LibreOffice Version:

Version: 25.8.4.2 (AARCH64)
Build ID: 290daaa01b999472f0c7a3890eb6a550fd74c6df
CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 26.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

It's the original Version from libreoffice.org and there are no extensions or plugins installed.

Saving of the settings working in LibreOffice 25.2.7
Comment 11 Richard Kraut 2025-12-28 16:28:36 UTC
So I have made a little test with the old version 25.2.7 of LibreOffice Impress and therefore I've got some additional informations.

Both LibreOffice Versions are installed in parallel on my machine, but using several profile directorys.

On this old version the bug of this topic is not reproducible. That means it works here as expected as you can see in the attached scrteenshot.

Changes to the "Loop and repeat after:" and the "Live-mode slideshow editing" settings in the "Slide Show Settings" area stay as they were set after saving the presentation, closing it and re-opening it.

LibreOffice version information which was used for this test:

Version: 25.2.7.2 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5cbfd1ab6520636bb5f7b99185aa69bd7456825d
CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 26.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
Comment 12 Richard Kraut 2025-12-28 16:46:06 UTC
Sorry. I was too fast. So i have to correct my posting before.

The "Loop and repeat after:" option works as described in my previous post.
But the "Live-mode slideshow editing" option does have the same issue as described for version 25.8.4 for LibreOffice before.

I'm sorry for my negligence.
