Description Jan Vlug 2025-12-08 07:53:10 UTC
I use quite often external links in Calc. Cells referencing to external files are not automatically updated because they are not in the trusted sources of macro security.

It would be convenient if in the Edit | Links to External Files menu, in the Edit Links window, it was indicated if a source file is in a trusted source directory.

Having an easy option to add a source file directory from the Edit Links file directly as a trusted source would be very convenient.

You get an infobar about the external references, and it's a click away to activate it. Sounds not much inconvenient.

@heiko: Do you mean with the infobar the yellow bar with, when you open the spreadsheet, the text: "Security Warning Automatic update of external links has been disabled." with at the right the buttons: Help and Allow updating?

If so, I agree that this is convenient. However, this is exactly the message I want to get rid of when opening a spreadsheet.

To do so, I have to figure out where the external links are, and add their directories to the trusted sources. My request is to make that more easy.

Since this is a safety measure I would not make the warning easy to hide.
