Hi FOlks
I am running 26.8 and can't find a way to edit the fixed menu items on the top left of the screen = open/save/undo/redo. I want to add close to this list.

You are working in the MUFFIN Notebookbar Tabbed UI, customization is a simple on off toggle for what are otherwise hardcoded widget positions in these static UIs.

Tools -> Customize -> Notebookbar

A Close button is provided on the "Hamburger" across all the "Tabs", but in the MUFFIN NB Tabbed UI assemblage is also present on the "File" tab on the right edge. That can be toggled on or off by customization, but not moved.

If you need greater control over menus and toolbar button widgets, change your User Interface from Notebookbar to the "Standard" Menu - Toolbar - dialog w/Sidebar supplement. You can position controls where you need them on menus and dialogs as customization options are much more complete.

IMHO => NAB and => WF to enhance customization of this MUFFIN assemblage UI mode.

Thanks for that Stuart and I now understand the options.

Having said that, it would still be a good enhancement to get those fields to be editable in the MUFFIN version as they are really useful in that spot or if that's too big a task then adding close to the fixed group would be good 4me.
