Description willforestwater 2025-12-13 18:22:22 UTC
Description:
I created a writer document, saved as docx, that exclusively had mac screen shots saved into the document. When viewed it shows the document fine. But when I tried to print, only a blank pages comes out of my Brother HL-L2390DW. I converted it to a pdf, which showed a blank page. Opening up the word document in Pages - it prints fine.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create anew blank text document in Writer and drag in a mac screenshot (.png)
2.save and try to print to printer, or to save as a pdf
3.only a blank sheet appears
4. opening the file in Apple Pages, and it prints fine.

Actual Results:
blank page or pdf prints

Expected Results:
page with .png screenshots on it

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
deleted Libre Office and reinstalled. still has the issue

Please attach such document. Most of us do not own a Mac to reproduce it from scratch.

Costco wine list

on 25.8.3.2 build - prints blank page; open in Pages prints correctly

This document is entirely of png files (screenshots) dragged into the document using a macmini M4 Pro on Sequoia 15.7.3 . I updated both LibreOffice and the MacMini Macos yesterday, just before this problem appeared

Previously documents with png files printed without problems.

A current document with just text (no png files) opened in Writer prints without problems.

Export to PDF works in Version: 26.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 620(Build:0)
CPU threads: 32; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 26100); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (de_DE); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The print preview is OK.

I cannot test on Mac.

willforestwater@proton.me:
Please test, whether you get the same problems, when you use .odt file format or .odg file format. If I had a document that only contains images, I would prefer the Draw module anyway.
Please test, whether you get the same problems, if the document contains some text. You might, e.g. add a page number or a date in the header.

The Print dialog has a "LibreOffice Writer" tab. There is an option "Images and other graphic objects" in section Contents. Make sure that the option is checked.

So I saved this as an odt file. Same problem. I put some text in the document and it printed out the text, but not the png file dragged in. Same when I created a new text document. And yes, the option when printing for Images and other Graphic objects is checked.

But you say when creating a pdf in version 26 this doesn't happen? When might that be released?

Oh, and saving as an odg format still is shooting blanks...
