Created attachment 204654 [details] screen capture of firefox Hello. Fron some time at this part, the technical (and no so technical) language become full of anglicism. This say that a non English phrase have one or more words on english. Sadly LibreOffice require change the language word by word or entire paragraph And this sometimes is annoying when inser characters etc. I propose at the botom bar ( where appear the current language) a list of installed languages, then i will select all allowed languages for the documents. For example: _ French X Spanish X English _ Chinese So if write the next phrase: "When you go to spain, you must tell Buenos días to give the good morning." without any spell error. Obviously i am writing on english and my phrase seem to forced. But at the inverse is very common and natural in regular speak. Ex1: when i receive a "whatsapp" i will transcript "word" and generate an "email" to read on the "reader". On electronics engineering is worst because a lot of things are english words. Firefox has included this feature as is in the screen capture
Sounds useful to me, but let's ask design-team
Text can have only one language. But you have a couple of user-defined dictionaries where those words can be added that are tech-bubble or something to ignore like your name. You find it under Tools > Options > Language and Locales > Writing Aids or via the spellchecking workflow per Tools > Spelling... respectively F7. The online help is here https://help.libreoffice.org/25.8/en-US/text/shared/optionen/01010400.html, and the documentation https://documentation.libreoffice.org/en/english-documentation/ is for sure even more informative And for the example "you must tell Buenos días to give the good morning" the best way to manage the language is to define a character style with language = Spanish and apply this the "buenos dias" part. => WF Semi-professional help from other users is always available at https://ask.libreoffice.org/.
