Screenshot of the presenter console in 4.0

Until 4.0, the Presenter Console after stepping over the last slide used to show in the Next Slide Preview area two strings, mentioning "Click to exit presentation" and "Current Slide (end)".

Now there is the last slides preview shown only, which is not in sync with the slideshow already showing the end slide.

1. Open an empty presentation with 1 slide only
2. Press F5 to display it, also start it with Presenter Console visible
3. Move to the next slide
-> The slideshow view shows the black screen with "Click to exit presentation..."
-> The Presenter Console shows "Current Slide (1 of 1)" which does not match the black screen in the slideshow view.

Bug 58505 - Tweak F5 for slide display, and add Shift-F5
Added menu entry to start the presentation from current slide.
Changed "Start Presentation" menu entry behavior so it starts
from the first slide.

End slide view of the Presenter Console in current master
Comment 2 Gabor Kelemen (Collabora) 2026-01-11 16:39:15 UTC
Note: If I start the presentation with Shift+F5, then the strings appear correctly, so only the "Start from first slide" mode is broken.
Comment 3 Gabor Kelemen (Collabora) 2026-01-11 16:52:50 UTC
Note 2: I noticed this behavior while doing this patch: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/197017 - maybe there is something wrong in this part of the code as well.
