Description alec.ko.ca 2026-01-26 17:16:10 UTC
Description:
using LO Calc to create an native (.ods) or Office Open XML (.xlsx).
(1) Windows 10: LO_calc:25.8.4.2 (X86_64) and
(2) Ubuntu 24.04.2 (X86_64) LO_calc: 24.2.7.2 (X86_64)
Export as PDF and set Security Open password.
On Windows, and Android smartphone (Google Pixel 7 Pro and 9 pro) opening the pdf works and asked for the password and displayed correctly.
However, on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, no password asked, just open and show contents.

Note: a Serious security issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new spreadsheet. Put in some data.
2. Export as PDF, set Security, put in Open Passwords, and export
3. Open the pdf in Windows and Android phone to verify the correct password

Actual Results:
Open the pdf in Ubuntu there will be NO check for password. It just open as if password does not exists.

Expected Results:
Open the pdf with Windows and Android, it'll prompt for password.

Reproducible: Always
