This bug is a continuation of bug 165507. As of bug 165507, the toolbar buttons for Start and End paragraph alignment use the same icons as Left and Right, respectively. We should consider creating unique graphics to distinguish between these two types of alignment. Previous discussion starts in bug 165507 comment 18.
How about this: * Start and End button icons stay as they are, but * Left and Right button icons get an overlay of some kind of lock, that symbolizes the alignment (and the button icon) won't change if you change paragraph direction The lock could be separated from the lines either by a small empty padding, or perhaps enclosed in a rectangular box. It could be placed either in the middle of the icon, or perhaps in the center-top, or in the middle-left and middle-right for the left and right icons respectively. What do you think?
Created attachment 205278 [details] Mockup/sketch of the 6 buttons with L & R icons incorporating locks Continuing my previous comment... this is what I was thinking.
