Description Guillermo Dominguez 2026-02-01 05:19:14 UTC
Description:
EDITING spreadsheets. In addition to the current calculation facility of LibreOffice Calc, having the option to recalculate selected cells or a range of cells would be a big help.

To prevent choking modest computer resources and accommodate a multitude of unique formula cells required turning off AutoCalculate. After some editing, manual simple or Hard Recalculate is executed for the entire spreadsheet file, which suspends further editing until the often long recalculation ends. Manually recalculating selected cells of a range of cells requires cumbersome "fake" editing of individual cells.

I am aware of other possible ways to analyze the problem including considering whether using spreadsheets is the appropriate tool or there is a better way to handle the formulas, but this is something I have no control over. I am also considering the enhancement I propose might be a concern for others.
