Description:
So it may be possible, but as yet I have not found the way. I am trying to apply character styles to blocks of text using search and replace before importing the file into Indesign. These files are manuscripts for books, so I ca. Adobe Indesign does not automatically maintain italicised words, so the way I have found to maintain them is through styling. In the passed I have used Word and been able to apply a character style in the find/replace tool.
