Ref: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/131897 If on your Windows / macOS system, there is support for Skia/Metal or Skia/Vulkan, they will be used also in safe mode in v.26.2: restart in safe mode, and in Help->About, see that rendering uses these HW acceleration methods. In case when Vulkan / Metal caused crash, that means, that safe mode will also crash (see the question on Ask site). On macOS and Windows, where Skia is now a hard requirement, it must use raster rendering method.
