Distro: Ubuntu 10.10 x86

The new Indian currency is available in the new Ubuntu font that defaults with Ubuntu 10.10. Typing Ctrl+Shift+u 20b9 to get the Indian rupee symbol in LibreOffice 3.3 produces just square boxes instead of ₹ character.

Selecting Ubuntu Font and inserting the ₹ character from Insert-->Special Character menu works fine.

OpenOffice 3.2.1 doesn't seem to have this issue.

Issue still persists in LibO 3.3 RC2.

Selecting the Font from the dropdown list as "Ubuntu" shows the character correctly.

However, the character should have shown automatically without selecting the font as in the case of OpenOffice 3.2.1

I reckon this issue is very specific to Ubuntu.
Installing LibO from the following PPA resolved this issue.
