The previous screenshot has wrong setting in Options/Load-Save/HTML Compatibility - should be UTF-8

I can't reproduce the crash neither with master nor 3.3 builds... but I can see some wrong text encoding imported.

Could you provide some gdb backtrace by following the steps here:

The encoding import bug is fixed by this commit:

Thank you, Cédric! I can't reproduce deadlock anymore. Maybe reboot (Ubuntu 10.04) solved the problem.
