Description Regina Henschel 2010-12-31 05:39:46 UTC
Enter
    f(x)=
in the visual editor mode, then click in Elements in the Functions category on e^x. Notice that the result looks like e^x, but in the command window you see, that the part func is missing. So after storing and reopening the character e will be italic, but it should be regular, because it is a known function name.

Using the same command button, when cursor is inside the command window produces correctly
    func e^{<?>}

Now enter the correct command
    f(x)=func e^x
in the command window. Finish. Double click formula to change to edit mode. Now set cursor into the visual part to use the new visual editor and exchange x with t.
The formula in the command window changes to
     { f { ( { t } ) = e rsup { t } } }
Again the func command is removed.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

    Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.4.1 or later)
    https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

    If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

  If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

    Update the version field
    Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
    Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo";
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Thank you for your help!

The problem of missing func is still present in
Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 40b1e8266e47792d354cd457c652bfb0f0a21e69
TinderBox: Win-x86@62-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2015-02-11_00:13:43
Locale: de_DE

When generating an e-function via template the letter e is upright as it should be while writing it, but when reloading the letter e is italic, and that is wrong for a common function name.
Comment 10 Thomas Arnhold 2016-02-21 16:30:36 UTC
Seems to be fixed with 5.1.0.3.
Comment 11 Adolfo Jayme Barrientos 2016-02-22 05:08:39 UTC
The FIXED resolution is reserved to bugs with an explicit commit associated. Please close as WORKSFORME when a bug is no longer reproducible in a current release.
