Give an object a circular custom animation path. Select the path ans then click the Edit Points button, it appears that you can edit the circular path. If you do (say move the lowest control point up to make the path into a kidney shape) the path is changed and even if you reload the presentation the path appears edited, but the object still moves along the original circular path.
(In reply to comment #0) > Give an object a circular custom animation path. Now, how do I give an object a circular custom animation path? I'm not an Impress guru, so I need some help here... Thanks.
@Gregor: What't the difference here to your Bug 33026?
[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html

Created attachment 58956 [details] presentation with circular path animation
Reproduced in 3.3.4 and 3.5.1 on Fedora 64 bit Changing of individual points of path Impress not takes in account and not saves May be it is not correct logically to change circle, because this effect becomes not "Circle" but "Boomerang". But effect "Free form" surely should be edited. But not works editing of individual points. If we move path as whole, without editing individual points, then it works. Expected: individual points not allowed to be edited or result of editing works correctly. Actually: we can edit individual points of path, but in result nothing changes
[Reproducible] with parallel installation of Master "LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: 6900781]" (tinderbox: 2008R2@20, pull time 2012-08-14 09:27:23) Steps to reproduce: 1. open sasha's sample 2. Toolbar 'Drawing' activate 'Points' 3. Now gample a little, distort the circle, add a point and create a "nose" leading to bottom left sheet corner, ... > All edits will work and modify the path as expected 4. <f9> to start presentation Expected: Exciting path also leading to bottom left sheet corner Actual: still boring circle 5. Save under new name, close, reopen Expected: new path shown Actual: shows circle as in original document. Not only circle path is affected. "Normal" Edits without "Points" activated work as expected Description in "Bug AOOo#115099 - Cant change animationpath" is a little rare, but I think it's the corresponding one. Due to AOOo Bug problem seems inherited from OOo. Help text under Heading "Animating Objects in Presentation Slides": "... A double click on a path starts the point edit mode. The point edit mode can also be started by Edit - Points or by pressing F8." So it seems that it has been intended to have that possibility to edit. Ir it's not possible to repair that within short time, "Points" mode should be made inactive (with modification of Help, of course). @Thorsten: Please set Status to ASSIGNED and add yourself to "Assigned To" if you accept this Bug
Not reproducible with current stable version. Closing as WorksForMe. Feel free to reopen if you still encounter the problem. Best regards. JBF
