When greek letters are written in an equation under LibORC3 they do not show up in the screen. Only a tiny squere appears instead. Key word: VIEWING
That sounds like a font problem. Please search on your system for the OpenSymbol font file. On windows the name should start with "opens" and has the extension ".ttf", I guess on other OS too, but you can ask on a forum or mailing list. Then post, where you find it and which version the file has. You might read http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=113586 and its duplicates.
It's not so simple Regina, I work under Ubuntu Linux 10.10, my work implies a lot of math and statistics so I write eq. very often in manuscripts, lecture notes etc. I have used OpenOffice for years for these purposes, without problems. To install LibO 3.3rc3 I completely uninstalled OOffice and installed LibO from the tar file with the deb packages. In my Synaptic Package manager listings ttf-Opensymbol package appears as installed, just in case I installed the ming-fonts-opensynbol package but it made no difference. Btw, Shouldn't all the needed LibO fonts be installed from the installation tar package? The problem seems not to exist in regular text written with LibO Writer. Mi desktop (the one I'm using right now) is an All In One HP Pavillion MS 200with 2 AMD Athlon x2 Cores Model 3250e, but the problem also appears in my netbook (2 Atom processors) and in my office workstation (2 Intel Xeon cores). So, is not system dependent under Ubuntu 10.10 Linux. To me it looks as just a bug in the Math module of LibO 3.3rc3. The bug disappeared from LibO3.3rc4 in the i386 x32 version but remains in the x64 AMD version.
